Lula Mae Stewart
Lula Mae Stewart,83, of Burnsville went home to be with the Lord and her husband family and friends, July 24, 2010 at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, WV.
Lula Mae was born on January 27, 1927 in Gassaway to the late Newell W. and Dove “Tiny” Lanham Drake.
She was a homemaker and along with her husband Jimmy owned and operated J & J Wholesale Supply Company of Sutton for 35 years which served 7 counties. She was a loyal member and faithful supporter of Sutton Baptist Church for over 50 years, and a member of the women’s fellowship at the church.
Lula Mae was preceded in death by her husband; James P. ‘Jimmy” Stewart, her parents; and brothers; Richard R. Drake, Thirl Drake, Eldred Drake and her sisters; Cora Hackworth , Lucille Drake Dobbins, Edith Eileen Drake, Anna Louise Carr, and Levita "Dee" Phillips .
Surviving her are sons; Michael S. and wife Avonda and Harold Gene and wife Pam Stewart all of Burnsville, brother; James W. Drake and wife Evelyn of Lake Dallas, TX., Also 3 grandchildren; Jamie Stewart and wife Missy, Harold E.”Jake” Stewart all of Burnsville, and Danielle Stewart Helmick and husband Josh of Sutton. 4 Great-grandchildren; Diamond and Austin Stewart, Kegan and Carissa Kerr all of Burnsville and several Nieces and Nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, July 29,2010 at Sutton Baptist Church, Sutton with Rev. Allan Copenhaver and Dr. Michael Sisson officiating. Burial will follow in Bealls Mill Cemetery, Gassaway, WV. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Greene-Robertson Funeral Home, Sutton. Edward Quentin Martin
Edward Quentin Martin, 53 of Cayce, S.C. formally of Sutton, WV died July 20, 2010.
He was born on March 10, 1957 in Wood County, WV to the late Dale and Audra Miller Martin.
Edward was a member of Christ Church United Methodist in Sutton, he also was a former member of the Sutton Volunteer Fire Dept. He worked most of his life as a surveyor and later as an Layout Engineer in N.C. and VA.
He is precede in death by his parents; and a sister; Janet Etters.
Edward is survived by son; Garrett Quentin Martin of Jacksonville, N.C. and his daughters; Tiffany D. Martin of Clarksburg, WV and Karmen B. Martin of Summersfield, N.C. he has a brother; Frank Martin of Sutton and half sister; Kim Workman of S.C.
Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, July 25, 2010 at 4:00pm at Christ church united methodist in Sutton with Rev. Doug Smailes officiating. Family suggest donation to Christ Church Unted Methodist Life Center 188 Main Street Sutton,WV 26601.

Tressie Louise Spinks
Tressie Louise Spinks 60, of Birch River died, July 21, 2010 at her residence.
Tressie was born on October 4, 1949 in Widen, WV to Mary Wilma Greathouse and the late Dallas Webster Greathouse.
She was a homemaker.
Tressie was preceded in death by her sister; Rethia Dodrill and brother; Robert Lee Greathouse.
Surviving her are husband; Darrell Herbert Spinks, sons; Ricky Allen Spinks of Birch River and Timothy Wayne Spinks of Cottle, WV, mother; Mary Wilma Greathouse. She also is survived by a brother; Terry Michael Greathouse of Widen, WV and eight sisters; Marie Frame of Birch River, Patricia Barnett of Ohio, Betty Summers of Widen, Lisa Young of Clendenin, Michele Bennett of Birch River, 6 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held Sunday July 25, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Greene-Robertson Funeral Home, Sutton with Rev. Oscar Spinks officiating. Friends called one hour prior to service. |
Orvie Donald Payne
Orvie Donald Payne, 65, of Sutton, WV died on July 17, 2010 at his residence after a long illness. Orvie was born on Feb. 16, 1945 in Centralia, son of the late Nathan and Emma Nicholson Payne.
He was a Army Veteran and worked most of his life as a laborer.
Preceded in death by his sister; Edith DeWald and Orvie’s twin brother; Alvie and his other brothers; Darrell, Woodrow, Raymond, and Obert.
Orvie is survived by his wife Emogene Shaw Payne 2 sons; Russell and wife April Payne and Andrew Payne all of Sutton, brother; Buddy Payne of Sutton, and 4 sisters; Eva Evans of Craigsville, Gladys Sandy of Little Birch, Orpha Mace of Sutton, and carol Taylor of Centralia, WV. He also has 2 grandchildren Lucas and Alexis Payne.
At his request the body has been cremated. |
Cindy Lou Richardson
Cindy Lou Richardson 46, of Little Birch, WV went home to be with the Lord July 10, 2010 in Akron, Ohio. Cindy was born on March 8, 1964 in Sutton, WV to Peggy June Hamner.
She was a homemaker, attended Newville Methodist Church, a 1982 Graduate of Braxton County High School and was Secretary of Central WV Car Club.
Preceded in death by her Grandparents Alva and Pearl Hamner, and Charles and Pearl Lewis.
Cindy is survived by her husband Tim Richardson of Little Birch, sons; Timothy Eugene Richardson, Jr. and Zachery Camden Richardson, daughter; Miss Lilly Schree Richardson all at home, mother; Peggy June Hamner of Newville WV. Also surviving several Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces and Nephews.
Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at Greene-Robertson Funeral Home with Rev. Linn Schiefer and Rev. Brain Burkveskoy officiating with burial following in Newville Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday 6-8 p.m.

Alma Ann Graham
Alma Ann Graham 82, of Sutton went home to be with the Lord, July 11, 2010 at her residence after a long illness.
Alma was born on December 5, 1927 in Sutton to the late William Peyton and Hannah Ellen Martin Keener.
She was a retired clerk for the United States Postal Service. She was a member of Sutton Baptist Church, and a former member of the church choir. A volunteer for Braxton Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, and she was fondly remembered as Sutton, WV only woman Mayor.
Alma was preceded in death by her first husband; Ivan Posey, Sr., sons; Ivan Posey, Jr., Martin Allen Posey, and step-daughter; Eunice Louise Alford.
Surviving her are husband; James W. Graham, son; Scott and wife Elva Sue Posey of Sutton, daughters; Lela Brady and husband Allen, Mary Ann Conant and husband Eugene all of Gassaway, and Gigi Frame of Calvin whom Alma considered her own daughter. She also has two sisters; Mary Nell Herndon of Heaters, and Laura Teets of Charleston, 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday July 15, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Sutton Baptist Church, Sutton with Rev. Shawn Frame and Allan Copenhaver officiating.
