     Alice M. "Sissy" Thompson

     Alice M. “Sissy” Thompson, 52, of Birch River, WV, passed away February 1, 2012 at her residence.  

     She was born June 20, 1959 in Summersville, WV. She was the daughter of the late Jennings Homer & Hattie Faye Hoover Neff. She was a caregiver for Seneca Health Associates, and was a Baptist by Faith.

     She was preceded in death by her parents, step-son; Joseph P. Thompson, brothers; Robert Lee Neff, Johnnie Neff, Carl Neff, sister; Abigail Hoover.  

     Alice is survived by her husband; Maxwell Thompson, sons; Danny Adkins & wife Casey of Summersville, WV, Joseph Rose of Birch River, WV, daughters; Shannon George & husband Robert, Becky Lyons & husband Jason all of Birch River, WV, step-son; Mick Thompson of FL, step-daughter; Maxine Garvin of Birch River, WV, Vaughn Rose the father of her children, of Birch River, WV, brother; Michael Neff of Birch River, WV, sisters; Melinda Neff Painter of PA, Teresa L. Lindsey of Rainelle, WV, Angel Neff and Patricia Ann King both of Birch River, WV, 10 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren.

      Funeral services will be held 2:00pm Sunday, February 5, 2012 at Greene-Robertson Funeral Home, Sutton, WV with Rev. Linn Schiefer officiating. Burial will follow in Hoover Cemetery, Birch River, WV.  Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Saturday February 4, 2012 at the funeral home.

     Marjorie Joyce Jarvis

     Marjorie Joyce Loving Jarvis, 70 years old, entered into eternal rest January 30, 2012 at the home of her beloved daughter and son-in-law with whom she had resided for the past 3 years, in Birch River, WV after a long illness. She was the youngest child of the late Virgie Nell Graham Loving and Chelsie E. Loving who preceded her in death in 1999 and 1983. She was born July 4th, 1941 in Swandale, WV and was baptized June 6, 1954 in Birch River.

     Also preceding her in death was her first born infant daughter Rebecca Ann Lane in 1960.

     Those left to cherish her memory are her 3 daughters, Mrs. Louise Nell Westfall and husband Billy from Birch River, Mrs. Emza Mae Criner and husband Jerry from Newville, WV and Mrs. Sierra Nutter and husband Jesse from Summersville, WV. Also surviving are sisters Mrs. Wanda Dodrill from Birch River, Mrs. Betty Tinnel and husband Frank from Hookersville, WV., brothers, Mr. Chelsie E. Loving, “JR” and wife Sharon from Oakwood Village, Ohio. Marjorie had five granddaughters, Carol Joyce Hamrick from Columbus, OH, Stephanie Runnion Crystal Canfield and Beth Patterson all from Clay County, Fonda Joyce Taylor from Birch River, and one grandson, David Taylor of Clay County, plus eight great-grandchildren, 5 nephews, 4 nieces and several great and great-great-nephews and nieces.

     In abiding with her wishes, her body was cremated under the direction of the Greene-Robertson Funeral Home, Sutton, WV and her ashes will be placed with her first born Rebecca Ann at the Loving Family Cemetery in Harrison, WV

     A memorial service in her honor will be held at the Powell’s Mountain Baptist Church with the Rev. Linn Schiefer Friday, February 3, 2012 at noon. Friends may call one hour prior to service.

       Michael David Gibson

     Michael David Gibson passed in peace from pneumonia, Friday, January 27, 2012 at the age of 55.

     Michael was born in Sutton, WV on November 5, 1956 to the late Julian Gibson and the late Mabel

Young Gibson, both of Herold, WV.

     Michael was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He graduated from

Braxton County High School in 1977. He was a former lineman and an avid member of the National Rifle

Association. Michael was a Christian and member of the Little Birch Southern Baptist Church. Throughout

his life, he shared his passion for music and was known for his willingness to open his heart and home to

those in need.

       He is preceded in death by brothers Roy “Butch” Gibson and Paul Gibson both of Herold, WV.

       Surviving Michael are his wife Donna Darlene Myles who he married on May 25, 1990. Also surviving are

his children, Jessica Mabel Danielle and husband Tim Lowe of Reedsville, WV, Serina and husband Michael Wright

 of East Liverpool, OH and Michael David Wolfgang Gibson of Bel Air, MD, He was a proud grandfather to River Hugh

 Michael Minnich, Oliver Grey Morgan Minnich, Lyla Mae Josephine Lowe, Aiden Michael Wright and Ali Grace Wright.

       Also surviving are siblings, John and Betty Gibson of Herold, WV, JoAnn and husband John Gawthrop of Gassaway, WV,

 Sam “Unk” and wife Sandra Gibson of Herold, WV, Christie and husband Cliff Freeman of Clarksburg, WV and

sister-in-law,  Barbara Gibson of Tesla, WV.

        A memorial service will be held on Saturday February 4, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Greene-Robertson Funeral Home,

Sutton, WV with the Rev. Rich Demastus officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

     Phillip Drane

     Phillip Drane, 59, of Sutton formerly of Munhall, PA went home to be with our Lord Monday January 23, 2012.   He was born the son of the late Robert L. and Mary J. Shaver Drane.

     He was an active member of Stump Chapel Baptist Church where he enjoyed leading Bible Studies. He was a carpenter who enjoyed using his handyman skills and was always up for a new and challenging project.

    Phillip was preceded in death by his parents, sister; Pamela, brothers; Robert and John Drane. 

    He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Brenda, son; Jason Drane (Stefanie), granddaughter; Hailey Drane of Virginia Beach, VA, brother; William Drane (Stacy), sisters; Kim Fallon (Mark), Beth Milke (Dale) all of Munhall, PA and many nieces and nephews who adored him.

   Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at Stump Chapel Baptist Church, Tesla, WV with Rev. Ted Legg officiating. Burial will follow in Braxton Memorial Cemetery, Sutton. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Friday January 27, 2012 at Greene-Robertson Funeral Home, Sutton, WV.          Hunter Harvey Woods

     Hunter Harvey Woods infant son of Harvey & Crystal Lynn Hundley Woods of Dille, WV went home to be with his Heavenly Father on January 22, 2012.   

     He was born on December 3, 2011 in Summersville, WV.      

     Hunter was preceded in death by his Maternal Grandmother; Shirley Jones Hundley.

     He is survived by his parents, brothers; Derek Woods of Richwood, WV, Christopher Canter of Widen, WV, sisters; Selena Rosalee Woods at home, Heather Lesnett of Waynesburg, PA, Paternal Grandparents; Ledford & Linda Woods of Dille, WV, Maternal Grandfather; Richard Hundley of Stuarts Draft, VA, God Parents; Anthony & Jennifer Duffield of Clay, WV.

     Graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday January 27, 2012 at Hall-Woods Cemetery, Dille, WV with the Rev. Wayne Litton officiating. Friends may call Thursday January 26, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. at Greene-Robertson Funeral Home.

     Larry Douglas Deal

     Larry Douglas Deal, 61, of Sutton, WV passed away Saturday January 21, 2012 at his residence.   

     He was born September 21, 1950 in Sutton, WV the son of the late Earl & Gay Tolley Deal.      

     Larry was a Construction Worker and a member of the Moose Lodge #1693, Sutton, WV.

     He was preceded in death by his parents, sister; Joan Miles, brother; John Deal, infant brother; Earl Deal Jr., brother-in-laws; Lawrence Berry, Ira “Bud” Keener, Olen Purvis.       

     He is survived by his brother; Jerry Deal & wife Evelyn of Sutton, WV, sisters; Delores Berry and Sharon Purvis both of Bradenton, FL., Shirley Keener of Streetsboro, OH., Judy Houghton of Marlinton, WV, brother-in-laws; Okey Miles & Bob Houghton, niece & caregiver; Angie Houghton, several other nieces and nephews.

     Funeral services were held 1: 00 p.m. Wednesday January 25, 2012 at Greene-Robertson Funeral Home, Sutton, WV with Rev. Bill Griffin officiating. Burial followed at Braxton Memorial Cemetery, Sutton, WV. Friends  called one hour prior to service at the funeral home.
